Offering therapy services for creative neurodivergent souls by a creative neurodivergent soul.
"Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we'll ever do."
Brené Brown | The Gifts of Imperfection
Your Story Matters
Calling all neurodivergent writers, musicians, artists, dancers, and creatives looking for emotional support, healing, or help navigating life’s challenges. The world may have told you otherwise, but you are inherently worthy, just the way you are.
Maybe you have late-diagnosed ADHD, autism, or AuDHD, or you've started wondering about the possibility of being neurosparkly. Maybe complex trauma tricks you into dissociating when you try to focus on tasks or relationships. Maybe chronic pain, illness, or fatigue slow you down. There is a safe space waiting for you at Heal ATL, and I would love to welcome, accept, and celebrate you.
Perhaps you have been measuring your self-worth by your productivity instead of embracing your inherent worth as a human being. Please allow me to gently guide your gaze to the light of worthiness you have embodied since birth. You are worthy even if you never write that novel, get that agent, publish that book, record that album, paint that masterpiece, join that dance company, or win that award. You are worthy simply because you are you.
Therapy can empower you to shape the narrative you tell yourself about who you are and what holds meaning in your life. I believe in your ability to transform anxiety, shame, perfectionism, procrastination, and creative blocks into serenity, self-love, authenticity, and the joy of creative expression. In our work together, you are the expert on your life, and my role is to nurture seeds of healing, compassion, creativity, and strength to help you grow and thrive along the healing journey. I weave narrative, expressive arts, and person-centered techniques into my psychotherapy process with warmth and care, tailored to your unique needs. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based trauma modality similar to EMDR but faster and more creative.
I will hold space for you in the way you feel safest, whether that means working with your inner child or present-day self. I am happy to incorporate music, art, and writing into sessions to support expression and exploration. It is a privilege to witness the process as clients strengthen their self-esteem and embrace imperfection and authenticity.
I apply a multicultural lens and enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and identities. I am a second-generation Cuban American, and I’m happy to hold sessions in English, Spanish, or Spanglish. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an instructional designer in Silicon Valley. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and Siberian cat, writing contemporary cozy fantasy novels and indie songs, playing single- and double-strung Celtic harp, singing, birdwatching, and chasing side quests as a half-elf bard in D&D. I collect obscure musical instruments, effect pedals, magnets, hair clips, African violets, and cat memes.
At Heal ATL, I work under the direction of Dr. Shayda Nematollahi, LPC and under the clinical supervision of Brittany Hewitt, LPC, CPCS. At Carrick Counseling, I work with children, under the direction of Christina Carrick, LCSW, and under the clinical supervision of Annie Kelahan, LPC, ACS, ATR-BC.
